WHAT HAPPENS WHEN IT RAINS? HOW ATTITUDE CHANGES EVERYTHING

Of course, no one wants it to rain on their wedding day. Sadly the weather is one of the few things that is outside of your vendor team's control. So if the forecast isn't looking promising, here are some tips:
1. Be flexible. Your vendor team is going to do everything they can to make sure that the rain plan looks as good as possible. If you were going to have an outdoor ceremony that might mean a tent or moving it to an indoor location. Rain also might mean adjustments to the timeline - if there is a break in the weather then photo start times might get changed to best accomodate that. I once had a couple end up doing a first look when it wasn't planned because that was the only time during the day to get photos outside when there wasn't a thunderstorm.
2. Trust your vendors. Please, please, please take our recommendations if the weather doesn't cooperate. We want you and your guests to be safe and to enjoy the day. If we say that something needs to get moved, believe us. If we tell you that an unusual location is now our prime photo spot, trust us. We are working hard to make your day as beautiful and seamless as possible.
3. "As the bride goes, so goes the day." This is a favorite phrase of mine that simply means this - if you have a good attitude about the weather or last minute changes, everyone else will follow suit. You set the tone for the day. If you are stressed, then that is the vibe that is felt throughout the day. If you are joyful no matter what, you will be surprised at how your wedding party and guests commit to being happy as well.
4. Be prepared in case you get wet. Of course we do our best to keep everyone clean and dry, but when moving from one location to the next, you may get rained on a little. Your dress might get dirty, your hair might fall. Make sure you have a curling iron and other hair products on hand in case touch ups are needed. Most wedding planners will have stain remover for a dress, but don't let a little dirt on the hem ruin your day.
